Our Legal Team

At The Eric Whitehead Partnership we offer the highest level of legal services to our clients. Eric W B Whitehead started the firm in the 1950s as a sole practitioner. The firm has its offices in the Staffordshire market town of Cheadle and has three Directors, Timothy Halliday BA (Hons), Elizabeth Collins LLB (Hons) and Nicola Robinson. The Directors are assisted by the firm’s Conveyancing Executive Lisa Allbutt, Solicitor Ellen Brian and Paralegals Sarah Cann and Philip Salt.

    A graduate of Durham University, Timothy Halliday is a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales and is the Head of the firm’s Family Law and Conveyancing Departments.

    Timothy qualified as a Solicitor in 1985 having undertaken his training at a firm in Stoke on Trent. Timothy joined the Cheadle branch of Eric Whitehead & Co in 1987 and was made a Partner in 1992.

    Timothy specialises in all areas of Family Law, from Divorce and Ancillary Relief applications, through to Children Act and Adoption applications. He is a Member of Resolution (formerly known as the Solicitors Family Law Association).

    Timothy is also an experienced conveyancer.

    Elizabeth Collins obtained her Law Degree from Exeter University in 2007. This was quickly followed by a Masters Degree in International and Comparative Public Law, again from Exeter.

    Elizabeth then took her Legal Practice Course at Plymouth University, passing with a Commendation in 2009.

    Elizabeth joined The Eric Whitehead Partnership in 2009 and was admitted as a Solicitor in August 2011. She specialises in Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Family Law matters. Elizabeth is an Associate Member of Solicitors for the Elderly.

    Nicola Robinson joined the firm in 2010, following 15 years working in the legal finance sector. During this period, she also studied for legal finance qualifications including Association of Account Technicians (AAT), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and The Institute of Legal Finance and Management (ILFM).

    Nicola was appointed as a Director in 2019 following the firms’ conversion to become an Alternative Business Structure (ABS).

    Sarah joined The Eric Whitehead Partnership in 2016 and qualified as a Paralegal in 2022. Although predominantly dealing with residential conveyancing, Sarah also assists with Probate matters.
