Nicolas John, Solicitor and Senior Director
Nicolas John, the firm’s Senior Director and the Head of the firm’s Conveyancing and Private Client Departments, is a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales.
Educated at Llandovery College in South Wales, Nicolas began his legal career with Marshall Fleet & Llewellyn Solicitors in Stoke on Trent. During a five year period of training with Marshall Fleet & Llewellyn, Nicolas attended Liverpool Law School to complete his final examinations. Shortly after qualifying as a Solicitor in 1972 Nicolas joined Eric Whitehead & Co as an Assistant Solicitor. He became a Partner two years later.
During his time at Eric Whitehead & Co and at The Eric Whitehead Partnership Nicolas has practised a wide variety of law on behalf of his clients, from criminal defence and prosecutions through to licensing applications. He now specialises in residential and commercial Conveyancing and Wills and Probate.
Nicolas has recently received an award of "outstanding legal practice" from The Good Lawyer Guide.

Timothy Halliday BA (Hons) Dunelm, Solicitor and Director
A graduate of Durham University, Timothy Halliday is a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales and is the Head of the firm’s Family Law, Employment and Criminal Departments.
Timothy qualified as a Solicitor in 1985 having undertaken his training at a firm in Stoke on Trent. Timothy joined the Cheadle branch of Eric Whitehead & Co in 1987 and was made a Partner in 1992.
Timothy specialises in all areas of Family Law, from Divorce and Ancillary Relief applications, through to Children Act and Adoption applications. He has been an Advanced Member of the Law Society’s Family Law Panel since 2002 and is a Member of Resolution (formerly known as the Solicitors Family Law Association).
Timothy is also an experienced conveyancer and is an expert in Employment Law, having particular experience of Compromise Agreements.
Timothy has recently received an award of "outstanding legal practice" from The Good Lawyer Guide.

Nicholas J John BA (Hons) Econ, Solicitor and Managing Director
Nicholas James John, the firm’s Managing Director, undertook his training contract with the Newcastle under Lyme branch of Eric Whitehead & Co between 1996 and 1998.
Upon qualifying as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales in June 1998, Nicholas’ legal career has included four years working in the City of London for firms specialising in often high value Defendant Professional Negligence claims. Nicholas has also worked for large commercial litigation firms in Manchester and in Stoke on Trent.
Nicholas joined The Eric Whitehead Partnership in November 2003 and was made a Partner in 2004 and a Director in 2005. He was appointed Managing Director in 2009. Nicholas specialises in Private client work including Wills and Probate and Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection applications.
Nicholas is a trained journalist and also has an Honours degree in Economics.

Kevin J Bowden, Civil Litigation Executive
Kevin Joseph Bowden joined Eric Whitehead & Co in 1976 having previously worked for firms in Manchester and Stoke on Trent as a general litigator and as a conveyancer.
Kevin is now the firm’s Civil Litigation Executive and is Head of the firm’s Litigation and Personal Injury Departments. Kevin is a member of apil, the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers, and has dealt with many personal injury claims during his career, some of which have been worth up to £3 million.
Kevin is also an experienced conveyancer and has a particular interest in Landlord and Tenant matters.
